Policies & Care Guidelines

These guidelines are in place to support a smooth schedule and create a calm, comfortable grooming experience for every dog in my care.

  • Appointments canceled or rescheduled with less than 48 hours’ notice may incur a fee of 50% of the scheduled service. This time is reserved specifically for your pet, and short notice makes it difficult to fill the appointment.

True emergencies may be considered at the groomer’s discretion.

  • Failure to arrive for a scheduled appointment without notice may result in a charge of up to 100% of the scheduled service.

Repeated missed appointments may require a deposit to book and could result in future booking restrictions.

  • If you arrive more than 10 minutes late, your appointment may need to be shortened, rescheduled, or canceled depending on the schedule.

Late arrivals may also result in an additional handling fee or forfeiture of the appointment.

Please communicate if you are running behind when possible.

  • Payment is due at the time services are completed.

If exact change is not possible, cash payments may be rounded to the nearest nickel due to coin shortages.

Prices listed are starting estimates and may vary depending on coat condition, behavior, and time required.

  • Appointments requiring additional time due to matting, coat condition, or behavior may be billed at $10 per 15 minutes. This ensures the grooming process remains safe, calm, and thorough.

  • All dogs must be in generally good health and able to safely tolerate grooming.

Please disclose any medical conditions, behavioral concerns, bite history, or handling sensitivities prior to your appointment.

Severe matting, anxiety, aggression, or senior-related conditions may require adjustments to the grooming process or referral to a veterinary groomer. In cases of matting, humane removal—including shaving—may be necessary for the dog’s health and comfort.

  • Dogs must be up to date on required vaccinations, including Rabies and DHPP (Distemper, Hepatitis/Adenovirus, Parvovirus, and Parainfluenza).

Proof of vaccination is required prior to or at the time of the appointment.

  • Dogs with active flea infestations cannot be groomed in this setting.

If fleas are discovered during the appointment, the service will be stopped and rescheduled once the dog has been properly treated.

  • Every reasonable precaution is taken to ensure a safe grooming experience. However, grooming involves physical handling and the use of tools, and some risk is always present.

By booking an appointment, you acknowledge and accept that:

    • Dogs may experience stress during grooming

    • Pre-existing or undisclosed conditions may be affected

    • Minor incidents may occur despite careful handling

Jasper’s Tidy Tails is not responsible for issues arising from undisclosed health or behavioral conditions.

  • In the rare event that your pet becomes ill or injured during a grooming appointment and requires immediate veterinary care, you authorize Jasper’s Tidy Tails to seek appropriate treatment.

Any associated costs will be handled based on the situation.

Have questions about any of the policies? Feel free to reach out—I’m always happy to clarify anything so you feel confident and informed before your appointment. 🐾
